Last night I attended an event at Urban Decay, which was a collaboration with Ashlee who is better known as OhSoFemme, a well known Influencer from Northern Ireland. The event was held in House of Fraser, Victoria Square and Ashlee was using the new Kristen Leanne Palette from Urban Decay to create an eyeshadow look and give her best tips. The event was overall really good and it was great to meet some fellow bloggers there.

So this is the outfit I wore to the event, the entire outfit is actually from Primark (not planned I swear, I just love Primark). I decided to go for a simple pair of black plisse trousers with a grey tie waist blouse tucked in and then to go for heels to dress it up a bit. The shoes I was wearing are the ever popular grey suede Valentino dupes, from Primark. They did look great on, but I have to say they crippled my feet.

Overall Ashlee did an amazing job on the makeup, and I will definitely be adding the Kristen Leanne Palette to my wishlist for creating some fresh spring looks. My favourite tip that Ashlee shared was for applying eyelashes. Whilst a lot of people use the method of waiting for eyelash glue to go tacky. Another method is to set the lash on the eye whilst the glue is wet so some of the glue will transfer onto the lid, then you can apply the lash and it will stick more easily as the glue on the lash line will have gone tacky. I'd never heard of this tip before and I thought it was so helpful because let's face it eyelashes are such a pain to apply. Ashlee also shared tons of other great makeup tips that I will be using in the future. The Q&A part of the evening also brought out Ashlee's personality so much and she gave a lot of helpful advice on Instagram, Youtube and how she has got to where she is. I found this part so interesting especially since I've only started blogging recently, it was great to hear from someone who has built up their following.

This event was £16.50 including the goodie bag, which I thought was a really good price as you received a full sized Urban Decay Vice Lipstick, as well as many other products.

What was in the goodie bag:
Full sized Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 'Hideaway'
Mini Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Samples of 4 Urban Decay Vice Special Effects Lip Topcoats
Voucher for Complimentary Eye Look at Urban Decay
GHD Final Fix Hairspray
Jimmy Choo Blossom Perfume Sample
Lancome Energie De Vie
£10 off when you spend £50 House of Fraser Voucher

So I'll just say that I've never actually tried any lipsticks from Urban Decay before. I absolutely adore their base and eye products but have never tried anything lip related. I was so excited when I saw the colour of this lipstick because it looked right up my street and very wearable. It's like a mauvey rose colour which isn't too pink. It's a little darker than your average nude but is still very everyday appropriate. The formula of this lipstick is amazing for a matte, it's so creamy and not drying at all on the lips. This particular lipstick is in the finish 'comfort matte' which is definitely appropriate, as it's so comfortable on the lips. When it comes to lipstick I'm a die hard Mac lover, however some of their matte formulas can be on the drier side which is why I was so impressed with the formula of this lipstick. These usually retail for £16.50 which is a great price in my opinion and I will definitely be picking up more.

Thank you for reading

  1. It was so lovely to meet you at the event! It's always great to meet other local bloggers and have a chat! Loved reading your thoughts on the night, and our goody bags differ slightly so it's nice to see what everyone else got! :) Your heels were absolutely gorgeous, I curse the fact I have tiny feet and no primark heel will fit me unfortunately. Can't wait to catch up on all your blog posts :)
