WHAT I RATE AT THE BELFAST CHRISTMAS MARKET

November 21, 2018

Living less than 5 minutes from the Christmas Market has made me somewhat of an expert in the many delicacies and delights on offer. I have sampled a lot of the food and drinks so I only have it was fair to share that knowledge with you guys. Only a second note these are only my personal preferences and I'm sure everyone has their own favourites.

THE SAVOURY

FRENCH GARLIC POTATOES
These are a firm favourite of mine every year at the market and this year they did not disappoint. These warm and creamy garlic potatoes are the perfect snack at the Christmas market, that I would definitely recommend.

GIANT YORKSHIRE PUDDING
This is something I've discovered this year, I'm not sure if it's new to the market, but it's the best thing! Basically a giant Yorkshire Pudding with a Christmas Dinner inside, what more could you want. I opted for the Turkey meat, stuffing, roasties and gravy and I have to say it did not disappoint. This is my number 1 thing that I'm telling everyone to try this year.

BRATWURST
Ok so some of you are probably thinking, bratwurst? But Hannah you don't eat red meat? So yes, this isn't something that I've personally tried myself but it is James' absolute favourite. Anytime I go to the market with my friends, one of them is sure to get this. So I'm going to include it because it must be good.

MAC N CHEESE, PLEASE
When i saw this stall at the market this year I fangirled a little inside because I am a self proclaimed Mac N Cheese connoisseur. I basically only eat Mac and Cheese when I was in America. So for there to be a whole stand dedicated to my favourite food, I mean, yes! You can choose from loads of different toppings and the Mac and Cheese is so good.

THE SWEET

DUTCH PANCAKES
This is such an obvious one and feel like everyone and their granny has had dutch pancakes from the market before but they still remain a firm favourite of mine. I get the Nutella and cream topping and they are honestly so good.

BELFAST BUBBLE WAFFLES
Another returning favourite of mine is the Belfast Bubble Waffle. I absolutely adore these, there are so many different options, I usually go for the Nutella and Oreos, cause it's amazing. If you haven't tried one of these you should and bonus it also looks great for an Instagram.

CHIMNEY CAKES
This is a new favourite of mine, the chimney cake. They are like a donut and a cone crossed filled with all the Ice Cream goodness. I recommend just trying it if you haven't they are super good and you will not regret it.

SWEET TREATS

MELTING POT FUDGE
If you are like me and love fudge then you have to try the Melting Pot Fudge it's honestly the nicest fudge I've ever tried. I've been getting it from the Christmas Market for about 3 years now and I still love it. They do loads of amazing flavours my personal favourite is the Salted Caramel.

CHOCOLATE KISS
I honestly think the Chocolate Kisses are great, they are only £1 each I believe and they are amazing. You can also get them in a little box which is perfect for a Christmas gift for a loved one.

DRINKS

HAZELNUT HOT CHOCOLATE
This is the first thing I got at the Christmas market this year and it was not a let down. If you've ever wanted Nutella Hot Chocolate this is it. I go to the Hot Chocolate Stand just through the main front door and it's so good. The Christmas Market can be cold too, so get this when you come in and then it'll keep your hands warm while you walk round. Also cream and marshmallows make it ten times better.
PASSIONFRUIT CIDER
If you are going to the beer tent I would highly recommend the passionfruit cider, it's really nice and easy to drink so definitely recommend if you are getting a stein. If you like fruity ciders like Kopparberg you will love this.

Thank you for reading
Hannah x
